Abacus sees major growth in the home shopping sector in the first quarter of 2010

Abacus measured a double digit increase in the volume of data shipped between quarter 1 2009 and quarter 1 2010 suggesting that direct mailers were growing more confident as economic conditions eased.

The Abacus Business Barometer, an online survey, was sent to all members of the Abacus Alliance and ran for 2 weeks in May & June 2009. 48 key members representing 14 major shopping categories including Women's Fashion & Accessories, Men & Women's Clothing, Home Interiors, Gifts and Gadgets & Home responded to 4 preset questions. Their answers make for interesting reading.
